About Indieniche

Indieniche’s Newsletter—The #1 newsletter sharing stories from self made founders

Indieniche is an entrepreneurial newsletter founded by Olayanju Idris. We share stories, lessons, tools, and growth hacks directly from founders and indie hackers. Our goal is to learn from their journeys; their struggles, successes, and how they took their ideas from concept to revenue.

We believe it’s important to share these stories to inspire and guide other entrepreneurs seeking niche ideas or encouragement to start their own ventures. With over 30 stories and counting, we’re here to support founders at every stage of their journey.

The stories we share include:

- Founders' success stories

- Founders' product sale journeys

- Founders' struggles

How We Started

Indieniche started as a way to share founders' success stories, highlighting their achievements, their work on their products, and the success they've found. Showcasing their journeys encourages other founders that they, too, can become indie hackers and bootstrapped founders if they learn to build in public and sell their products.

One of my first articles, written 8 months ago, featured an indie hacker from India named Bhanu Teja, who made $222,969 by building a ChatGPT wrapper called SiteGPT.ai. You can find the link to the article here.

In another article, I shared key lessons learned from Figma’s fallout following its acquisition by Adobe and what we can all take away from it. That’s how I started writing articles, until I hired a full-time editor, Ololade, to help with writing, editing, and publishing on the Indieniche platform. Today, I’m proud to say that our collaboration has led to publishing over 30 stories across various niches from around the world, allowing us to meet and connect with amazing people. I’m truly happy with how the newsletter has grown and excited about what the future holds.

I’d be grateful if you’d subscribe to receive stories from our publication.

What Indies Are Saying

About Me

My name is Olayanju Idris, also known as Skyrocket_Builder. I'm a former senior product designer and design manager turned scrappy founder. With over eight years of experience, I've worked on 100+ products that have generated $500k+ in revenue. My background has allowed me to lead design, engineering, product, and strategy, helping companies move from the idea stage to revenue stability.

I left my full-time job to become an indie hacker, driven by a desire to do more than just design, I wanted to create solutions that genuinely impact end users. Now, in my first year fully focused on indie hacking, I'm building two newsletters and four products across different niches, all generating revenue.

This journey has taught me to build like an engineer, master SEO, perform keyword research, engage with customers, create content, find clients, and lead a cross-functional team. Every day is a learning curve, and I’m constantly evolving as a founder.

If you’re a scrappy founder like me, I’d love to connect! Come say hi, I’d enjoy hearing your story and maybe grabbing a drink with you.
